A Day for Immigrants

The first Saturday in May is Kentucky Derby Day. Today it was a day for immigrants. American Pharoah won the 141st Derby. Egyptian immigrant and naturalized citizen Ahmed Zayat is the owner. The jockey was Victor Espinosa who came to America from his native Mexico to attend jockey school. Espinosa has won back to back victories in the Derby. He was the 11th of 12 children. As an aside, he donates 10% of his winnings to City of Hope to support pediatric cancer research. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Espinoza

Zayat was born in Cairo, Egypt and moved to the US at the age of 18. He got a Master's degree in public health and business from Boston University. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmed_Zayat

Both are American success stories and reasons why we need #ImmigrationReform

I hope all the Right Wingers who wanted Far Right to win are taking notice!
