America's Aging Infrastructure

There's no disputing that America's aging infrastructure needs help. In the State of the Union address last Tuesday the President said we need a bipartisan bill passed in Congress to fix our roads and bridges. President Obama and Vice President Biden took that message on the road back in May. They had lunch at Shake Shack in DuPont Circle with some construction workers. The President wants to pay for it by raising taxes on corporations that actually pay taxes. It's probably not going to happen with this Republican Congress, however. But, there is some talk of raising the gas tax to pay for some infrastructure work.

What do you think? If you agree with the President that our roads and bridges need some major attention, then, please let your representatives in Congress know your expectations. If we don't demand some action, they will likely not address this pressing need.
